Paraquat is a kind of quick acting, broad-spectrum non selective herbicide, which has contact killing effect and certain internal absorption effect. It can be quickly absorbed by plant green tissue, causing it to wither, and has no effect on non green tissue. This series of paraquat adjuvants are mainly based on anionic/nonionic, nonionic/zwitterionic or cationic/nonionic surfactant.
Mixed system of anionic and nonionic surfactants is one of the commonly used type in paraquat adjuvants. The preparation compounded by this formulation has outstanding paraquat efficacy. In addition, this type of adjuvant has a good viscosity form, even the viscosity of the preparation is very high, it can still maintain a good flow state and showed a good water solubility. However, this type of adjuvants is greatly affected by the quality change of paraquat TK, especially the dilution stability.
Nonionic/zwitterionic compound or cationic/nonionic compound adjuvants are more cost-effective than anionic/nonionic compound adjuvants. In terms of performance, this type of adjuvant has good salt tolerance, and can still maintain the stability of the formulation when the quality of the paraquat TK fluctuates.
